Killarney gets a lot of visitors arriving in electric cars, and "EV charging available" has become something guests filter for when they book. We do commercial electrical work in hotels across Kerry and can fit anything from a single guest charger to a small bank of units.

What usually needs thinking about on a commercial install:

Load balancing so multiple chargers don't trip the building's main supply
Three-phase where the property already has it — faster charging, more units
Billing and access control if you want to charge guests or restrict it to residents
Siting so cables don't cross a walkway and create a trip hazard

Longer driveways mean longer cable runs. Not a problem, but it changes the price, so we measure it at survey rather than guessing.

A note for anyone in or near the National Park: some properties there have planning conditions on external fixtures. Worth checking before you settle on where the unit goes.

SEAI grant

Flat €300 in 2026, cut from €600 in 2024.

Private home, off-street parking, and the grant not already claimed at that address. You don't need to own an EV yet.

The charger must be on SEAI's approved register and the installer must be Safe Electric registered. We're registered and only fit approved units.

You apply at seai.ie. We install, issue the completion cert, SEAI pays you afterwards.

Note: the €300 grant is for private homes. Businesses, hotels and guesthouses go through separate routes. The workplace charging scheme covers up to 60% of installation costs, capped at €5,000 per charge point, and is funded by Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland and applied for through SEAI. There are other schemes covering destination and visitor charging. Approval has to be in place before any work starts, so ring us and we'll tell you which one fits your setup.
